Amid PPP fraud investigation, 9 top employees have left chief Cook County judge’s office – Chicago Sun-Times

Though Judge Timothy Evans won’t talk about the findings of the PPP investigation of his office, other government agencies in Chicago have. A spokesman for Iris Martinez, clerk of the Cook County circuit court, said more than 50 of her employees were suspected of defrauding the program. Chicago Public Schools officials said 14 employees were out on the CPS inspector general’s recommendation. And City Hall Inspector General Deborah Witzburg said more than 1,000 PPP loans went to city employees and that many appeared to be fraudulent.

Fraud in Cook/County/Chicago, unbelievable!

Don’t expect any criminal prosecution, or restitution of illegally-obtained PPP funds. The most politically-connected government employees, the “Big Fish” politicians, won’t be investigated, or bothered, whether it’s fraudulent PPP loans, tax evasions, unpaid water bills and parking tickets, bribes, or personal expenditures on government charge.

Government employees aren’t held to same ethical standards as private-sector folks, surely we all already know this.

Their pensions should be seized and if that doesn’t restore what they stole then liens should be placed on their real estate (if any). If these punishments can’t be imposed without felony convictions, then prosecution should be initiated and assets frozen pending the verdicts. They should be forced into bankruptcy and fraudulent transfers should be unwound. If prosecution is feasible, then the highest possible charge should be relentlessly pursued and if a guilty plea can be worked out they should be put into minimum wage jobs and an appropriate amount should be withheld as debt repayment. One hates to see… Read more »

If they committed these crimes while in their official capacity then they can lose their pensions. If they committed crimes outside of their role then you can’t seize them. Otherwise you would need to go after their assets just like any other citizen.

IT’S SO OUTRAGEOUS. This is their skills as government employes? I wouldn’t know where to even start on such criminality, let alone think it’s ok, or that I wouldn’t get caught. This must be a a regular train-of-thought in these offices. What an absolute cesspool of reprobates these offices must be. I want to know if these offices are diverse.

Little to no diversity.

That’s why Pritzker and his cronies are trying to keep the unemployment fraud silent, can you only imagine what has happened in that politically connected office. Ah but don’t forget Pritzker’s words, it’s happening all around the country, such a feeble individual.

Notice how the corrupt state media never follows through to the logical conclusion on any corrupt politician story.
It’s obvious that the paper should immediately call for Tim Evans to resign for leading a corrupt office, but they’ll never do it.
When does zero tolerance for corruption in Chicago start?

Tim Evans is the ONE WHOM ORDERED INVESTIGATION, he is the actual whistleblower. He is the one whom hear rumors, looked into it, and made sure outside resources were used to hold those accountable. As network corruption and good old boys club members assist each other to cover up their crimes. We should all be thanking him. He is a blessing

You should talk to the mothers of dead children who were killed by violent repeat offenders with long rap sheets released to the streets by Tim Evans’ judges, who were enforcing Tim Evans’ policies. Tim Evans is a corrupt individual with blood on his hands. The evil triumvirate of Tim, Toni, and Kim have caused more misery in Chicago than any group of corrupt city leaders in history. Further, the definition of blessing is: Something promoting or contributing to happiness, well being, or prosperity. You don’t even know the meaning of or how to use a two syllable word, but… Read more »

They want to live like this. They’d rather hunt each other down and not have to worry about the state trying to control it.

The ‘hood code of the street: Snitches get Stitches, doesn’t come from a place of fear, but rather, a shared hatred of authority and the local police.

Well, he should order a lot more internal investigations then because there’s lots of rumors surrounding his office! LOL

Tim Evans is the one who is stalling investigation, who is allowing folks to resign rather than repay PPP loans and/or face criminal prosecution.

As bold as the street thugs are now. It all comes together. Then there is the unemployment fraud (They tried to make me a victim, but got toe-jammed by my employer and me)

I had some fraud show up in my mailbox. The guy never lived here. It really speaks to the magnitude of the fraud.

It’s not a coincidence that drivers licences are mailed out now instead of given out at the DMV. Everything thugs need to steal identity is now available with a postal key.

They had all my personal information collected from the state unemployment office. The only change was a house number that did not exist anywhere in the county for my street. Inside job for sure.

I experienced something similar to that with a credit card over the summer. My old card was damaged and the new card took 3 weeks to get here. While the card was IN THE MAIL, somebody managed to charge 2K and authorize the transaction, too. I never would have caught it if I didn’t get a physical notice in the mail saying that I authorized the transaction.

Yep. I took great pleasure in toe-jamming the corrupt state employees.

I know these lowlifes won’t do any time. At a minimum they should have their credit ratings destroyed so they can’t do it again.

I’m not surprised to find crime at the top of a criminal enterprise.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
