Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
It would be a waste of money. It will be fought against & propagandized by the Governor, super-majority of (D)emons & Union leaders. And the Governor saying he is looking at cost reductions (which you know he won’t find enough to take a tax hike off the table) is a joke. There is something very wrong with a state that is under the control of now 7 counties. Until we eliminate the Combine, there will never be enough true conservatives in the state to wrest control of the Republican Party to make a diffrence.
No way Illinois will cut even a penny of DIE or midnight basketball funds…
If the auditor generals staff , which I’m sure are many, had been doing their jobs we wouldn’t need doge. I think this is why the Trump addministation has fired 10-12 inspector generals.
Frank Mautino was “rewarded” with this job even though he was in violation of IL Election laws. Doesn’t matter that the GA voted for his removal, he’s still there under the protection of our Governor who put him there.
And he hasn’t produced audited financial statements since 2022.
A complete embarrassing scandal anywhere but Illinois, with ZERO reporting in media, (accept WP) :
And we’re is Raoul
Busy suing Trump for trying to cut government spending.
On the Illinois taxpayers dime..(JBs hinting increasing kwames staff is a reason to raise taxes to fight donnie).
