An Illinois ‘oasis’ opens a window onto America in a post-Roe v. Wade era – CNN

"Illinois is going to be ground zero," said David S. Cohen, a professor at Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law in Philadelphia. "Illinois is just closer to more people who are going to be in states where abortion is going to be banned."

As a parent, I can attest to the miracle of birth and the importance of loving parents. While there are some compelling reasons for the medical procedure of abortion, we seem to have lost slick Willy’s perspective on RARITY. Also, that clump of cells that might become a contributing member of society deserves a bit more respect than many of the RvW folks offer… They do realize that, “There but for the grace of God goes I”?

Think about all the great reasons people come to Illinois. Gambling, dope and abortions. We really know how to attract the best and brightest.

Hopefully the downstate clinics will face a torrrent of overwhelming opposition and denial of access causing them to permanently close. The locals residents aren’t using these facilities to get these abortions – the article says it is mostly out of state people. It’s just a matter of time, I think, before the local residents kick these abortionists out of southern IL entirely.

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
