An ‘inability’ to stay away from guns: people on ankle monitors are getting caught with firearms in Chicago, prosecutors say – CWB Chicago

Cook County operates two pretrial electronic monitoring programs. Neither has seen significant increases in usage since cashless bail debuted Sept. 18. As of Dec. 8, the most recent date for which data is available, there were 899 users of the electronic monitoring system under the control of Chief Judge Timothy Evans’ office. That’s just 20 more participants than on Sept. 15.

So the Tim Evans’ judges enforcing Tim Evans’ policies are just fine with thugs owning illegal guns. Who knew Tim Evans was a fan of Constitutional Carry?
Wonders never cease in the Bizarro World that is Chicago.

Kim Foxx was the best advocate for getting rid of FOID cards. She said it was inequitable that young black and brown men got felony convictions on their records for the non-violent crime of carrying a gun without a FOID card, so she regularly dismisses their cases.

But like she said, that only applies to black and brown men. You, deplorable, with your 17 round legally purchased glock, you now own an illegal gun and you’re going straight to jail.

Nobody gets convicted of not having a FOID card. It’s waste of time to even charge anyone because 99% of the time the case is dropped.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
