Angry crowd shouts down City Council members during migrant debate – Chicago Sun-Times

Tuesday chaotic meeting of the Chicago City Council’s Rules Committee.“Sergeant-at-arms, clear the room,” Rules Committee Chair Michelle Harris shouted after Chicagoans opposed to housing the new arrivals shouted down Council members on both sides of the issue. Several people in the gallery, including a woman in tears, were escorted out by security after another observer singled them out as supporters of welcoming migrants. “Do you want a race war?” one woman shouted at the height of the vitriol.

I just stumbled across a You Tube channel by a guy named Peter Santanello. He has several recent videos in which he talks to people from Chicago and tours various neighborhoods. In one of them he rode along with a recently retired Chicago cop and talked with him and others for over 90 minutes about the migrant crisis, crime, homelessness, etc. It’s a real eye opener.

LOL, the exit polls in Ohio yesterday showed that 87% of black men and 81% of black women voted for Ohio’s abortion-on-demand constitutional amendment. 87% of black men! But they’re going to switch their allegiance to Republicans over some migrants.

They answer is that nothing will happen in most areas. Most of our ‘progressive’ politicians come out of the black community. However, some areas will be astute enough to organize a primary to remove the pro-illegal progressive democrats. Maybe.

And this has exactly what to do with voting or party affiliation? You’re citing a constitutional amendment in another state in response to a party affiliation discrepancy you’ve been peddling here for ages. Why is it so hard to admit that black and Latino are abandoning the Democratic party?

The point is that blacks and hispanics love abortion, They love abortion almost as much as Kim Foxx’s lax criminal justice policies! They aren’t going switch parties over on issue, illegal immigrations, when the republican party is against every other issue they support. At most some black community will try to primary the pro-illegals out of office, which is very difficult to do; and in most cases, nothing politically will happen to any of these pro-illegal politicians. Several states had big elections last night and it was mostly a Democrat sweep, as Democrats showed up to vote for more progressive… Read more »

Well this is how bad it is for Dems. I was talking to a liberal friend that lives in suburban cook county. She said the crime is getting bad and she does not like what’s going on with the migrants and the open border. She said she will, gulp, vote for Trump. I don’t think it’s an anomaly.

I hear you Robert. I’ve seen the same paradigm shift in my neighborhood.

Everyone needs to understand that they do have a voice and can make a difference.

Holly F-ing Sh@t, all the phony psuedo-socialist/ CTU/ libtard WBEZ press progressive types got to be scrabbling for cover!! Lopez NAILS it!!—-“As the shouting continued, Lopez said, “I, too, do not support this resolution because it automatically sets the city of Chicago up for failure. We need to vote this down. We need a clean referendum that simply puts the question to all of Chicago: ‘Shall we remain a sanctuary city?’ Because what we know and what so many in this room fear is that the true coalition between the African American and Latino communities does exist around this question… Read more »

When Lopez states–

“Because what we know and what so many in this room fear is that the true coalition between the African American and Latino communities does exist around this question because both communities want an end to it.”

Yah, we all know it’s true. And that’s got to scare the living crap out of progressives from Biden to CTU/Brandon who are so vested in spinning elite equity fairy-tales for their upper-income donor base.

It’s not equity! We should call it by it’s real name: graft. The San Francisco Proposition C story is a great lesson in poor management and something we should all study to avoid the same mistakes. A quick summary: large corporations have donated hundreds of millions to charities that basically pocket the money and use it for political activism that achieves ZERO results. San Francisco is in worse shape than ever. These same charities / NGOs consistently pat themselves on the back and they’ve destroyed the entire city in the process.

The true coalition between the African American and Latino communities exists to oppose yt. That’s the unsaid part of this coalition.

It’s obviously clear, even as elite left pol/press types try to cover it up, amongst everyday Black folks they are anti migrant. What’s going to shock the sh#t out of progressive left is when it becomes obviously clear everyday Latinos are anti-migrant as well…Don’t forget, its the elite left/ WTTW progressive leftie press types that assumes the general public are idiots on migrant issue and so many other issues–(example from WTTW/ H. Cherone video piece, when referring to Brighton Park migrant protesters as those that–““fall victim to anti-immigrant and miss information”, https://news.wttw.com/2023/10/24/heated-community-meeting-officials-detail-plan-transform-vacant-brighton-park-lot)

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
