As Buses of Migrants Arrive in Chicago Suburbs, Residents Debate the Role of Their Towns – New York Times

A line of people in winter coats stand in a line next to a bus. “The crisis is so obvious in the city,” said Ida Fiore, a volunteer from Lake Forest who has helped organize care packages for migrants. “We’re asking ourselves, ‘What is the housing scenario for these people? Can a suburb provide any support and relief in the long term?’ And we all look at each other and have a lot more questions than answers.”

Trib article notes: recently-arriving migrants EXPECT TO STAY IN CHICAGO, not suburban destinations, as if this preference is OBLIGATION of Chicago. We taxpayers are expected to dutifully fulfill, to fund and provide, like Fairy Godmother of Migrants. We are enabling expectations of these mooching 3rd-world migrants. They now expect to be fed, clothed, medically-treated, housed and granted spending allowance, for months, soon to be years, all at Chicago taxpayer cost. And not one politician dare establish obligation of these migrants to repay this mandatory taxpayer-funded hospitality. Nope, with neither our support nor consent, we Chicago taxpayers are stuck with enormous… Read more »

This is part of a plan that has been in progress for decades by our enemies. An interview of Yuri Bezmenov in 1984 outlines the entire plan to over throw the United States government through activities that caused society to change and collapse from within. Actually it is frightening how accurate his statements are and how our US society has changed over the past decade as they are influenced by our enemies activities. This link may or not work, but it is the full interview. There are short cuts of the interview also. Look on Youtube, it is easy to… Read more »

Once again, JB’s –emergency migrant proclamation (https://www.illinois.gov/content/dam/soi/en/web/illinois/documents/government/asylum-seekers-dis-proc-01-05-24.pdf) and the services (shelter) listed to be provided to asylum seeker migrants applies to entire sanctuary state, not just sanctuary Chicago. So, where’s Kwame enforcing JB’s –emergency migrant proclamation and forcing rest of the states municipalities and counties to provide the services listed??? No pol, or anybody in press, or migrant advocacy group says anything either?

Becareful what you wish for, because you might actually get it, as JB spreads out tens of thousands of immigrants in red counties downstate, threatening to withhold state money from any ‘red’ county that fails to provide for illegal immigrants.

Pritzker’s walking a fine line. With emergency migrant proclamation he wants ability to write, no questions asked Illinois taxpayer funded, $checks$ 90% to Chicago to keep the migrant mess lid on Chicago through dem convention but at same time knows forcing burs and downstate to service migrants will be a political disaster. I think, he’s mostly worried about Chicago not turning into a total s-show for dem convention but at same time doesn’t want to be exposed nationally that outside of Chicago, Illinois in deeply opposed to the whole sanctuary racket just like the majority of America. If i was… Read more »

You voted for elected leaders to represent you. The outcome of those elections provided leaders that welcomed these migrants with open arms. Elections have consequences.

Elected representatives are supposed to represent the Citizens. I find 75% of all citizens regardless of who they voted for want the illegal invasion to stop.

I agree that most people (myself included) want it to stop. However, until that issue is enough to sway the electorate we are getting the government we deserve. Also, many people did support the idea of “sanctuary” status until it came to their backyard. We have to thank Gov Abbott for helping people in this state see the light. Who knows? Maybe it’s enough of an issue where voters will be forced to reevaluate their past voting habits.

Did Detroit ever change its voting habits?

The electorate is against this invasion and its up to the representatives to do our bidding. They are elected to do what the citizens want done. Its not up to them .
Pretty soon your handle will be ” pensions SHOULD have been played first “.

You still believe that Joe Biden was the legitimately and duly elected president? Few really believe that anymore, and even those that profess it to be true, they secretly harbor doubts.

He won the election and was certified by congress. Just because some crazy conspiracy wackos don’t think he was elected doesn’t mean it isn’t so.

China Joe Didn’t steal the election. The whole of our corrupt/criminal government stole the election and are now making both our citizenship and money worthless.

Many people in the North Suburbs know Ida Fiore. The best way to stop all this illegal immigration into Illinois would be to introduce her to the migrants and let them spend a few minutes with her. Every one one of the illegals would beg to be sent back home.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
