Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Weed is legal in Illinois. Illinois’ political animals must get it in bulk and at a ‘friends and pals’ discount.
They remain on a hopium high while Illinois disintegrates.
It’s a model indeed.
Failing schools. Excessive taxation to cover years of fiscal mismanagement. Excessive crime rooted in the destruction of family – values, standards, expectations, respect, and the appreciation of the power of education. Oh, and don’t forget all the -isms to which its residents have been subjected.
Which has resulted in an exodus from the state…
Oh, and, of course, ALL PRESIDED OVER BY THE GUY WHO YANKED THE TOILETS FROM HIS CITY HOUSE – you know, the guy born a step from home who believes he hit the cycle.
Yeah, winning.
As one Democratic state representative once told me, “People are waiting in line to get in to Illinois.” If your constituents are dumb enough to believe that statement, they will believe anything you say. Illinoisans have no self respect because they are not bright enough to know what self respect is. They are much happier when their masters tell them what to think, then provide the requisite bread and circuses.
So sad to see and hear this pathetic gobbledygook. Who could possibly believe this garbage. More reasons why there is no solution.
So successful that the only people moving here are illegal immigrants. Lisa another Dem that fiddles while the place is aflame.
We have more than illegal immigrants moving here. We also have higher income college educated types, many of them AWFLs childless cat ladies. They see Chicago as an urban progressive utopia so they move here to be in a blue city in a blue state, because that is their politics. Drive around any north side neighborhood and many of the upper-middle class suburbs, they are filled with transplants, working in upper class type of jobs. They’re all die hard liberals.
Umm… not so fast – IL is 2nd biggest loser of high income households see link

Every body’s happy…till the money runs out.
Remember, Democrats are the ones who wondered why we couldn’t just mint a one trillion dollar coin. To them there is no such thing as money running out.
Ummm, er, yeah. Uh-huh. Sure…
