As migrants clash near high-volume shelters, neighbors and businesses grow alarmed – Chicago Tribune/MSN

Migrants gather on the edge of Pritzker Park near a restaurant in the 300 block of South Plymouth Court in Chicago on Sept. 5, 2023.“I don’t think any of us care that there is a shelter there. It is the fact that there are zero attempts to control the situation and we don’t feel safe here,” said Brandon Vulpitta, the owner of a popular karaoke bar near the shelter on Plymouth Court. “Our clients don’t feel safe anymore.”

Just wait until mid January, those ‘migrants” will wonder what the hell they were thinking picking Chicago.

After a few really cold days, they should be offered transportation back to wherever the hell they came from (and I don’t mean Texas).

Cheaper than supporting them indefinitely.

Where’s the montage of Lori Lightfoot and her virtue signaling rhetoric of how Chicago’s values are Sanctuary City Values? If it ran 24-7, as criminal-gone-sideways video do; on 2,5,7,and especially 9. The people of Chicago wouldn’t be asking, rhetorically really, “how did this happen?”.

Along the way they slaughtered all of the native men and interbred with their women. The few native men that remained gathered their families and moved as far west on the island as they could. The legend of King Arthur arose out of their exodus to avoid the slaughter. This invasion experiment (la invitacion de Biden) they call it Spanish, is the stupid idea to bring hundreds of thousands of single, military aged men into the country,… Read more »

There was a time in my life when you would proudly say you were from Chicago. Can’t say that anymore.

Exactly, when we’re on vacation we used to say we were from Chicago now we say we’re from a suburb far outside of Chicago.

According to a figure I heard the other day, of the 100,000 immigrants that have arrived in NYC 13,000 were shipped there by Gov Abbot. The other 87,000 were sent there by the Biden administration.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
