As Trump says Pritzker ‘should be in jail,’ Illinois’ governor taunts: ‘Come and get me’ – Capitol News IL

The president wrote on his social media platform that Gov. JB Pritzker and Mayor Btrandon Johnson “should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers.” Pritzker responded hours later, calling Trump “unhinged” and a “wannabe dictator” in an interview outside the federal courthouse. Then, in a theatrical turn, Pritzker stared directly into the camera and addressed Trump, declaring that “if you come for my people, you come through me” — a line he first used two days following Trump’s 2024 election win.

Since Pritzker’s “people” are obviously illegals, his terms are acceptable.

Trump didn’t call for Pritzker to be jailed. He said Pritzker “should be in jail,” which is different. He could mean, for example, that there ought to be laws that would provide for him to be jailed. That’s still a dumb thing to say because he should have been precise, but it’s not what’s being alleged by Dems.

Are you joking? Nearly every Trump utterance and act is an implied or actual threat against perceived enemies or done to seek personal advantage. Skills for promoting the selfless “common good” aren’t in his quiver.

If you were really concerned about the “common good” , you would not be pro illegal. Nor pro Leftist.

It would be the best thing that happened to Illinois in 2025.

Hey Jabba: are the 45% of Illinois voters that voted for Trump “ your people “ too?? Your schtick is getting old.

We most certainly are not his ‘people’…

He represents the far left bolsheviks & marxists…

For example – If you were an ‘undocumented’ non POC ‘immigrant’ caught by ICE he would put you on the plane himself…

“Come for MY people” – excuse me Govy, you don’t own us, you don’t govern us, you don’t represent us. But hey, keep trying to lose that weight. Think about how good you will feel after we push you to the margins

Jelly Belly calling Trump unhinged is the clearest recent case of the pot calling the kettle black.

I’m not sure JB is going to run for Governor again. Over the last few months he has not been involved in any significant Illinois issue. I think he is bored with the job. Trading barbs with Trump has become a full time occupation for him, but he has gotten so carried away with it and has resorted to so many nonsensical hyperboles that he has torched his national ambitions. He may just be done with politics. He is the leading anti-Trumpster only in his own mind, and there really isn’t much future in that for him.

And he sure isn’t conforming his politics to the will of Illinoisans.

Isn’t Illinois Fun?

Unsure about that, Mark, I’d like to believe that. But what is the will of Illinoisans? He’s been elected twice and likely, regrettably will win a 3rd time despite his rhetoric and abysmal track record. Single party rule seems to be the will of the people. At least to the degree Chicagoland dominates the state.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
