Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I think the confusion is giving this mass shooting the moniker “Juneteenth celebration. It just happened to be on that week-end. This was not a family gathering of people to celebrate black culture/history….. It was a group of people that mocked the idea of Juneteeth, thugs, just hanging around that unincorporated part of Willowbrook that has had issues in the past, re apartment complexes and such. Du Page sheriffs will have to be there every weekend to shut down activity at that location, seeing this could easily have made national news if the aim of the shooter(s) were more direct… Read more »
Hmmm… this is not exactly a “ghetto” place. Per WIKI: “The racial makeup of the village was 71.77% White, 4.48% African American, 0.30% Native American, 14.63% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 2.75% from other races, and 6.03% from two or more races. The median income for a household in the village was $86,364, and the median income for a family was $117,415. Males had a median income of $65,748 versus $45,833 for females. It was not in WB but in the unincorporated area near it. Crummy apartment complexes throughout DuPage county. Many of these areas are ghetto.
The media working overtime to portray this as a sanctioned Juneteenth event. This was nothing more than the usual suspects committing their special version of pillaging at 12:30 in the morning. Of course, if we can characterize it as another mass shooting of the protected class as they celebrate Juneteenth, all the better, right? Another fraud perpetrated by the mainstream media.
The most significant difference between this 20 person mass shooting, and the highland park shooting, is the poor aim of this shooter. But there’s no outrage because the shooting was among African-Americans, so that’s just culture or something. 20 people being shot is egregious. This is psychopath behavior, like the highland park shooter. Where is the march in the streets for this? Where are the politicians demanding long prison sentences for mass shooters?
