Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

That’s just one weekend’s worth of what happens every week in Chicago. Doesn’t even consider all the robberies and rapes and carjackings and what not.
Can you imagine what it would be like to have take yourself or your wife or kid to a Chicago hospital ER?
Be like going to a MASH unit in a war zone…
We can do better than this. Those are rookie numbers. 9 per weekend, for the year is only 468. Chicago was once headed for glory at 1,000/year. Recent years are 700-800. This summer is BBQ and thugging season, there should be some better number coming soon.

It happened outside the usual thug borders of the city of Chicago when thugs congregated in Willowbrook and started shooting there.
Hell, it’s only Monday morning, the last day of the holiday weekend. We’ve still got a full day and night available to add to the carnage – as will certainly be the case. Can’t even recall the number of national news articles I’ve read this morning describing gatherings of Black Americans being shot and murdered by other Blacks. Not one of articles acknowledging this fact. That would be ‘racist,’ of course. We’re not even talking about the right stuff publicly – not allowed. Where is the Rev. Al Sharpton with all the carnage going on with black on black crime? If a white cop shot and killed someone who is black he would fly in first class.
I was at a state park yesterday – absolutely beautiful, and very crowded. Many of the visitors were migrants from south of our former border with Mexico – families, very peaceful and quiet simply enjoying Fathers Day. Only a few Blacks were at the park it seemed on Fathers Day. Of the Blacks that were there, there seemed to be an uneasiness with all the Hispanic people. The ‘plantation’ has a different kind of newcomer, and the current residents are concerned the pie is being sliced thinner. Oh yeah.
The large gatherings at forest preserves and state parks mostly ruins the experience of nature. I’ll admit though, our neighbors from our southern protectorates are mostly well behaved and they stay off the trails, but the loud mariachi music blaring is a constant reminded that the newcomers are the Belle of the Ball now to our elites. Anecdotally, I was fishing in a forest preserve the other day, and a wide-eyed 20 something old Mexican saw me fishing and just kind of smiled. I asked, “Habla Ingles” and of course he said no. 64 Shot, 11 Killed In Father’s Day Weekend Violence – Hey Jackass
I’m surprised it’s that low, last night was an extraordinarily violent night, with dozens shot, stabbed, and even a mass shooting with two killed.
What I don’t understand is why these people hang out in groups on stoops and in the street. They’re making themselves targets. Somebody in your group has probably got ops out to get him and they’re going to fire multiple rounds into your group. Why put yourself at risk? Make no sense to me.
Summer is just getting started.
