Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. And still there are citizens who can’t afford healthcare and health insurance. While illegals pull out the “gold card” for all their needs.
Some people don’t like to get lied to and stolen from. Others don’t care, bury their heads in the sand, and get ripped off year after year. Unfortunately, Illinois is loaded with folks in the latter category. How many more years will they live with the lies, and pay the price for it. It still is not clear that we have had enough of the rip offs. And too many voters still don’t object to getting lied to and robbed.
