The outpouring of liberal angst on NextDoor was startling. It’s as if reading something other than MSM would kill them. Some recipients called the Post Office to complain. Journalism and publishing abhor a vacuum. Journalists let there personal biases seep into their work, readers took note and went searching for other outlets, then other sources filled those gaps with equally biased but on the other end of the spectrum.
These are self-inflicted wounds. Mainstream journalists lost the trust of the public but don’t want to do the work to earn it back. They’d rather blame publications like “Chicago City Wire” for filling the gaps they left behind. Readers didn’t change, journalists did.
Oh look it’s Greg “not a real journalist” Heinz crying again about something not important and nobody cares about which is why nobody reads Greg Heinz or Crain’s anymore. “Disguising certain types of political communications as news is a troubling trend (since) many readers probably can’t tell the difference” That’s how former readers of Crains, the Trib, Wapo, Bloomberg and NYT feel too.
