Awake Illinois event canceled at Des Plaines Theatre amid opposition from LGBTQ+ advocates – Chicago Tribune/MSN

“I do not take sides,” theater operator Ron Onesti said in a written statement. “What saddens me was the amount of hate that surfaced during all of this. “ He said people threatened to mail him bullets, asked neighbors to fill his garbage cans with dog feces, and he fielded many “hateful” calls, though he did not report it to police.

I watched the entire video. The crazy left wing nutjobs have no fear of negative consequences that’s why they act this way. There’s no will in the community to ostracize these people or make it socially unacceptable to engage in this type of behavior. In fact, it’s encouraged in many circles as community activism or protests against unjust. Society either has to collectively lose interest in this stuff, and these people will go away, or else we’re just going to have to accept that the future of most local politics will be with these crazy people in charge.

We can’t have civil conversations anymore.

Awake Illinois has been labeled toxic by liberal media. Anyone that agrees to meet with them is going to be shouted down and labeled racist. They can’t even rent a private space without a bunch of fascists jumping on the landlord. It’s stupid behavior that moves these types of conversations underground.

Opportunity presents itself and Ron proves he’s just a coward. Always a surfeit of spaghetti spines in this state.

“Carolyn Pinta, director of Buffalo Grove Pride, called Awake Illinois anti-trans and homophobic…

“Des Plaines does a great job of being a welcoming place,” she said before the cancellation, “and it’s awful to see this group coming to do an event there.”

Ah, step right up folks, here we see the left’s celebration of “diversity” on full display…!!!

As a gay guy, I’m disgusted by the intolerant shenanigans of the leftist LGBTQ “community” – isn’t their motto supposed to be “Love is love”…???

We as conservatives need to write emails to everyone of these non-woke organizations DEMANDING they renounce the behavior of Buffalo Grove Pride immediately:

Wintrust

BMO Harris
 Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital
Bill’s Pizza
Larry Steinway, Senior VP Mortgage Lending

And so on

IF ANYONE IS ON TWITTER, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY TAG THESE CORPORATIONS ASKING THEM TO IMMEDIATELY DENOUNCE THE ANTI-FREE SPEECH AND HATEFUL VIOLENT BEHAVIOR OF BUFFALO GROVE PRIDE

Wirepoints: It might be enough to simply create an article for sharing and distributing that shows all of these corporation donors support an organzation that encourages violence and hate, and now this kind of activism can tarnish their brand names.

Right Wintrust? investor_info@wintrust.com

Does Wintrust support violent behavior like sending bullets to the home of the owner of the venue? Should we boycott Wintrust for their political activism?

Places of worship are corporations now? What do you think people are going to do with this information, send some strongly-worded emails? Or are you hoping your Proud Boy buddies will take it upon themselves to do something more? Freedom of speech? More like “only our speech.” Get real.

Sometimes, all it takes is one tweet tagging the corporation, or house of worship, showing their evil ways, and they change course.

There are a lot of rumblings out of Des Plaines lately that tell you the direction the City is going. Increasing crime (carjackings and a murder on the south side along Touhy), city leaders very excited to welcome illegal aliens, now the mayor saying he doesn’t support booking an event to discuss the harmful affects of grooming our children. Even Cafe La Cave is pulling out. Leads me to think Des Plaines might be a place to avoid when considering investments.

The former mayor of Des Plaines, Matthew Bogusz, was a democrat hack, served until 2021, and he was replaced with an even worse leftist hack who loves to virtue signal all the leftist nonsense. Former Democrat mayor Bogusz said that even has had enough of DP and moved his family out of Des Plaines last year as soon as his term ended.

The progressives move to these suburbs, get politically involved, and ruin the place. These progressives are militant, well funded, angry and intolerant. They ruin everything. Society needs to push back against these people.

Just this past week there was a killing with a body left in the middle of Perry Street – just about a block or so from the Des Plaines police department.

Yes, Des Plaines is getting dragged into Chicago’s muck.

I find it ironic that the Daily Herald itself does not disavow violence and threatening intimidation to stop freedom of speech, the very same freedom of speech that the Daily Herald enjoys to punish its rag newspaper.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
