Barack Obama’s crumbling tower of babble – Substack

When confronted with photos of a crumbling building Obama Foundation honchos were in a pickle. They had no ready euphemism for 'significant cracking.' They could double down on their commitment to diversity and risk creating a Crumbling Tower of Babble or side with the white guys and risk alienating the diverse supplier community."

Poetic justice. Cracks in the foundation, cracks in the bearing walls, a vivid metaphor for net results and actual outcomes of 2-term Obama administration.

The concrete cracked because it is white and therefore racist.

The best thing to do is let Mayor Johnson handle it. Otherwise stay away from it.

Unqualified contractors building a poorly designed temple for a narcissist on stolen public land. What could possibly go wrong? May this be a bigger boondoggle than the infamous “bridge to nowhere “. It would serve all involved right.

Native Americans should demand return of their ancestral Jackson Park land.

Chicago taxpayers should demand return of their taxpayer-funded stolen Jackson Park land.

The photo states it’s the “slab” which would indicate one of the floors. If it’s the lowest floor that sits on the ground cut it out and re-pour. If it’s not the lowest floor then your looking at significant repairs. Could have been a bad concrete mix or the wrong type. If it was poured with freezing temps that could have caused the cracks. I assume they will have an engineer assess the cause and scope of the repair. This will need to be repaired, you can’t have a concrete floor with 1/4″ cracks and you can’t cover it with… Read more »

The cracks in the two pics is what you would expect to see on a very old concrete structure that’s due for a major rehab or demolition. New concrete construction should only have very fine hairline cracking in some places on a large pour. My guess is much of bldg will need to be demo’ed.

The Obama cultists are in a pickle because they can’t blame Trump and the Republicans, and that’s all they know how to do.
It’s really great that the leftist’s DEI religion is literally producing structural cracks in an edifice.
In this case I am using both definitions of an “edifice”:
1. A building, especially a large, imposing one
2. A complex system of beliefs

You know who knows a thing or two about building towering structures? Maybe he can save the project.

Great summary, especially regarding the facade Obama has presented his entire political career. In addition to the quality of construction issues, I just can’t get over ow ugly the structure is. It truly will be an eyesore of epic proportions when it is done. And given the info re construction defects in this article, it may turn into the “Leaning Tower of Obama”.

The article is correct in saying it is political clout that gets these jobs over competency. In their rush to start construction before the next lawsuit could pop up, did they even vet these contractors? This poorly constructed, already crumbling building will be a symbol of what Chicago has become for generations.

Of course they were vetted and assured that they were minority contractors. That’s all that matters isn’t it?

Hopefully the first of many of the lefts house of cards to fall…

I can hear the construction guys saying “just put some duct tape on it, it will be fine”…
