Billionaire Gov. Pritzker throws $90M into his re-election bid, with Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin poised to join GOP primary – Chicago Sun-Times*

Pritzker contributed $90 million to his campaign fund, according to a Illinois State Board of Election Friday night report of the donation. Pritzker campaign spokesman Natalie Edelstein said some of that money will support Democratic candidates and causes. Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, that city’s first Black mayor, is expected to jump into the Republican primary contest on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, various sources said.

Irvin’s campaign slogan should be some version of “I don’t need to BUY my election!”

Pritzker, and Pritzkers in general, are beyond shame, the “Prince Andrews” of billionaire class. Everyone should read Gus Russo’s “Supermob” book, despite its two decades ago publication date, every last work still relevant concerning Pritzker Mob.

Look at him. His hobby is counting money! He should devote his money to slimming down and enjoying life instead of ruining millions of people. I know if I had that money I’d be dead in an expensive plane wreck. Money can’t buy happiness!

All the opposition needs to ask the voters is.
Are you better off with the two dozen or more taxes raised? Then list them.
Do you feel more protected with all the mandates?
Do you agree with the way crime is handled?
Keep it civil and easy to understand. Put numbers on TV ads that are easy to remember like gas taxes were raised 100% not just the word doubled. Most people did not know what gas taxes were.
Keep it Simple!

The most expensive trip? An ego-trip.

“I am not a failure”
“I am not of mediocre intellect”
“People really love me for me and not my money”
“Everyone who made fun of me will see . . . “

I hope so but I don’t want to lie to myself. 800,000 more people voted in the gov’s 2018 race than 2014 gov’s race. Almost voter pulled a straight D ticket. The extra turnout wasn’t even proportional for Rauner and JB. It was all JB straight D tickets. Either something amazing happened, like Obama’s Hope & Change first term, or it was the beginning of the massive fraud that D’s do all throughout the state. And for some reason, when the rest of the country goes conservative, our state seems to Double Down on degenerate progressive values. Like a resistance… Read more »

$$90 million, for politics. Fat rich kid wasting money that could be better spent helping sick kids, disabled veterans etc. What a disgusting pig Pritzger is.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
