Bipartisan opposition to Gotion’s EV factory is growing across the state. – Mark Glennon on with WGFA’s Carl Gerdovich

Mark talked with WGFA’s Carl Gerdovich about the Gotion controversy: Chinese electric vehicle battery maker Gotion is expected to receive $8 billion in taxpayer subsidies to build a factory in Manteno, Illinois. Opposition to the project is growing stronger, with a majority of Kankakee residents already opposed.

After it is built and running the same people who were against it will be working there in a good job, so will their children.
Good paying jobs are hard to find.

Why anyone would be against a job creator is beyond me. Forget about the subsides, most are coming from the Federal Government. The Gotion plant will be one of the area’s largest employers. Every other major corporation is looking for somewhere else to move to.

Great job Wirepoints. Our inept Governor is so desperate to show some good economic news he will get in bed with Commies, militaristic opponents of the US, genocidal dictatorships and slave labor masters just to try to get a good headline. Shame on any American who would support this project. This project should be scrapped asap so our tax dollars don’t support pure evil.

China is one of Americas largest trading partners. Christmas would not be Christmas without all of their toys under the tree. Lots of clothing is made in China, Nike shoes are made in China.
The next generation can work at Walmart (live in the basement) for minimum wages selling Chinese goods.

Money talks and BS walks. If you oppose it you better come at it strong or with a never ending pile of cash.

South Korea also a player in the EV game, but no mention of them. Why so cozy with China, JD, Biden and the rest?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
