Black, Brown communities should get first dibs on coronavirus vaccine, minority leaders say – Chicago Sun-Times*

State Rep. La Shawn FordFord traced the mistrust of medical experiments back to the U.S. government’s Tuskegee syphilis research, which withheld treatment of poor Black men over a 40-year period. While he called on the governor “to convene a commission to make sure that this is done right,” a Prtizker spokeswoman noted that the administration’s vaccine distribution plan already “has an equity lens on it that prioritizes communities hardest hit by the virus.”

Imagine the screams of racism if the “first dibs minorities” get the vaccine and it is found to have bad long term side effects.

Some will say “first dibs” others will read “Guinea pigs”. So minorities should be the Guinea pigs? I’ve done fine with no vaccine so far, millions have gotten this virus and cured in a few weeks like a flu. My wife and I have decided to wait on getting any vaccine.

I hope there is a Black Market somewhere, where I can get my Fake certificate of vaccination!
I refuse to get a virus injected into my body!

Here they go again! Our Communist democrat politicians are the ones who foment hate and separation among races.
The hated leader of Germany did the same thing.
Let the politicians be the first ones to get the shot.
I won’t touch it!

I personally am in the group that refuses to be vaccinated. First dibs to the minorities is their problem not mine.
For once Illinois politicians will leave my body alone.

Ok so you will be allowed first dibs at the vaccine ?, but remember one thing and one thing only Mr. Ford you pushed for this so when the vaccine doesn’t promise what it is supposed to do and black and brown people have severe side effects beyond what the manufacturer has stated and black and brown people die at a alarming rate this falls on your shoulders god forbid this should happen. But that’s right blame the white people for everything that goes wrong in the black community. Can only imagine the media frenzy on this one and the… Read more »

What Ford and those “leaders” are proposing IS another Tuskegee Experiment.

Tuskegee Repeat is exactly what should be called out about this. It’s the never-ending blatant racism expressed by the likes of Prickster who think they are acting the opposite.

An “equity Lens” to prioritized the distribution. Ok, we all understand high risk groups, hospital workers, etc. But to prioritize by race? Really, is that what Pritzker said?

The black and brown communities deserve nothing. The vaccine should be given to first responders, essential workers and the elderly in that order. The high incidence of the virus in black and brown communities is caused by refusal to social distance, house parties, refusal to wear masks, smoking dope, hanging out in street corners and committing crime. They have caused the increase and should not be taken care of because racist lashawn ford wants it. They have caused enough damage this summer with their riots.

You are correct.

Good thing your moniker is “True Believer” and not “Researcher” because those who are the latter know there is NOTHING good to be achieved by this “vaccine.”

The whole operation is corrupt and frightening as Hell.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
