Audio: Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon says Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades – Chicago’s Morning Answer
Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
Expect no retraction or apology. This what they do.
The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.
Illinois lost another 54,000 tax filers and dependents, net, according to the IRS. Since 2000, fleeing taxpayers have taken $94 billion of annual adjusted gross income with them.
Nice to see that Springrad is keeping the race baiting narrative alive in order to accomplish the ultimate objective of divide and conquer. BLM has been thoroughly discredited as a money grabbing, Marxist and anti non- black scheme, yet the state capital names a street after them.
A California judge has ruled that teachers were right to punish a seven-year-old girl over a Black Lives Matter drawing because ‘she’s too young to have First Amendment rights.’
The first grader was banned from recess and drawing pictures at Viejo Elementary in Orange County after she added the words ‘any life’ below Black Lives Matter on a picture she drew and and gave to a black friend.
Why reopen that can of worms? What utter and divisive nonsense!
Black lives do NOT matter to BLM – if they did BLM would be a presence in Chicago trying to quell the violence, providing resources for the black community. Instead BLM resources are wasted on mansions for BLM queens.
Honoring that corrupt movement instead of the likes of rooftop Pastor Brooks is an insult to all POCs. How much has BLM donated to the Pastor’s efforts to help the community? Probably nothing.
“Why reopen that can of worms?”
Because of the Sonya Massey case (look it up). Despite some attempts to turn it into George Floyd 2.0, that doesn’t seem to have happened so far.
How about ALL LIVES MATTER EQUALLY.
