Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I always believe that everyone regardless of race or ethnicity deserves the best care. I don’t care if the person is black or white or anything else, all people are equal and should be treated so. She used to hold conference calls where you could sign up and listen and ask questions of our representative. I participated in a couple. For the most part, these were nothing more than a way for her to advertise herself, develop pre-formulated questions and let people “ask” her on the call that allowed her to talk about what she wanted and of course waste the time. “The package of bills would fund community organizations” I have to wonder how effective these community organizations are. Seems crooked to me and if it’s such a widespread problem does a community organization have a wide reach.
