Blue States Will Find Fighting Trump Is No Simple Proposition – Governing

Gov. JB Pritzker speaks with reporters after an announcement about JPMorganChase committing $10 million in low-interest loans to advance affordable housing development."In fact, we might well see the most direct confrontation between federal and state power since the 1963 crisis when President John F. Kennedy ‘s deputy attorney general, Nicholas Katzenbach, challenged Gov. George Wallace over desegregating the University of Alabama."

Colorado, a former swing state, is now solidly Blue. Foreign immigration, both legal and illegal, as well as the hippie environmental crowd has sealed it’s fate.

A reminder to the Blue States, Both Eisenhower and JFK federalized National Guard troops in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. Blue State Governors would like us to forget that- when it suits THEIR purposes.

The governor is an ongoing embarrassment – why change now?

Homan has a job to do – clean up the Biden/Harris/Obama border mess. Hope he hits the ground running and reverses the damage.

And while they’re at it, REPEAL the 14th amendment and bring an end to anchor babies. Its benefit to the country ended more than 100 years ago.

With Trump /Republicans now in complete control of the ‘fed trifecta” and winning the popular vote they’re in a historic position to put the big BLUE bankrupt to the public sec unions states in a world of hurt and rescue it’s citizenry (me) either thru fed legislation, the courts or simply not funding fed programs (per Peter Thiel– youtube @ min1:20:00, https://youtu.be/wwJV_NuN43Y?si=6yK2AKwoPyL1YWnp). Trump currently has the public on his side to do something. His pick for Labor Secretary, Chavez-DeRemer, doesn’t give one much hope that Trump/ Republicans see the possibility for HUGE populist win that could possibly flip blue states… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
