In her letter to lawmakers, Mayor Katrina Thompson asked for help to close the facility and transfer its ownership from the federal government to the village for redevelopment as a museum. The “Broadview Justice Corridor,” as she called the project, would turn the ICE facility into a “national center dedicated to immigration history, civil rights education, civic leadership, and cultural tourism" and generate up to $31 million in economic activity.
This is so dumb. ICE did not invite the protesters. They were paid. Ask David Chung the paymaster. He brought them there. He and those like him should repay Broasdiew!

Hey Katrina, go pound sand. A museum? LOL!!! A museum of mental disordered liberal ineptitude, perhaps. Generate $31 million in economic activity? The best you can do is to generate $31 million in political graft. It’s a dumb, self-serving idea.
Reimburse the village? I am all for that, just go after all the left wing protestors who caused all the mayhem. Good luck!

Perhaps mayor moron, you should have sent in the local Police in force to help eliminate the issue all together. Those were not protests, they were riots and you spent months doing nothing. I’ll bet most of your “costs” were placating the rioters, media and democratic narrative. Believe it or not, the Police can solve that problem very quickly – if given the opportunity and support.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
