Call me (maybe): Why isn’t Senator Tammy Duckworth picking up the phone? – Chicago Reader

Photo of Tammy Duckworth surrounded by quotes from constituents sharing their experiences trying to reach her office“I’ve been calling the senator,” emailed Cima Dairanieh. “Daily. For many weeks. I haven’t gotten a callback, email or letter. I also email her, daily.” In another email, Cara Piraino wrote that she’s called Duckworth multiple times a week since mid-October, but has gotten the recording directing constituents to contact the senator via her website “almost every time. I’ve only gotten through to a person twice in the past three months.” And Ashlee Stewack has called Duckworth’s office “at least twenty times over the last two months. I have never gotten a response or a call back.”

This person doesn’t want to talk to anyone unless it benefits her. She has no requirement to provide responses to anyone. No one measures her performance. No one measures any of their performances. She lives on her Vet Status and people vote for her…just because. This country should honor her sacrifice…but we don’t have to live with her bad decisions. Vote her out.

This article unintentionally illuminated the strategy a small leftist minority use to amplify their voice and therefore get the results they want. Bombardment. But the impression she is getting is that the pro-Hamas/Palestine viewpoint is widespread, when… Read more »

This is true but the progressives, in theory, believe they pose a threat to the establishment, because they vote Democrat in the primary.

Conservative voices have no power at all because our votes don’t count in the Democrat party…However, if we were to take over the Democrat primaries…VOTE FOR THE CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRAT in the Democrat primary, and maybe we’d stand a chance.

“ Beep! This is Tammy. I’m not at my desk now because I’m out running around with Durbin, Raoul and others advancing our progressive, socialist agenda. Leave a message! Beep!”.

It appears Senator Duckworth doesn’t want to talk to her constituents. They should remember that when it’s time to vote.

She doesn’t answer to her constituents. She’s a guaranteed her job as the soon to be senior senator for the rest of her life. She beat her last challenger by 15 points and term runs through 2029! She doesn’t care about you or anyone else in the state or any constituent. She never has to explain any of her votes to anyone as the Democrat party in IL reflexive “always votes blue no matter who”. Her loyalty is to the Democrat Party itself in DC. And for the record, this applies to many Republicans too – including RINO leader Mitch… Read more »
