A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Champaign Township squandered Covid funds rather than use them to lower taxes. Now, with the end of Covid funds, it seeks more taxes to continue spending with what it could not previously afford. So now the question is do the taxpayers of Champagne Township want higher real estate taxes or spending cuts. The election timing is set for one of those typical low turnout Illinois elections often used to push tax hikes so we will see. Pay attention because should the tax hike pass it could very well be a Statewide thing as Covid funding dries up.
