Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Known idiots are in charge, and they have known idiots in key positions. There doesn’t appear to be anyone responsible in leadership! Subsequently you have known idiots making key decisions! Everybody is in charge and no one is accountable. Everything gets swept under the rug! It’s difficult to figure out after the fact. Many of them can’t read or talk coherently. They’re all looking for opportunities to steal.
