The current CTU contract already includes a moratorium limiting the number of charter schools and enrollment, limiting the number of students able to benefit from charter schools’ innovative learning. If ratified in the new contract, “the total number of students enrolled by the 2027-28 school year will not exceed 100 percent of the total student enrollment capacity as of school year 2023-24."
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
