Illinois does have a pretty amazing craft brew scene. Illinois beer drinkers also like to drink local. I know plenty of people that purchase a significant amount of their beer from the local brewer down the block instead of the national brands. This of course is not without precedent, the local brewery has always customer’s first choice for nearly all of millennia, as beer was difficult to transport and encouraged local consumption.
