Chicago Abraham Lincoln statue defaced with anti-colonizer graffiti referencing Dakota 38 – ABC7 (Chicago)

For the second time in a month and a half, a statue of Abraham Lincoln was vandalized with a reference to 38 Native Americans who were hanged in 1862 over a land dispute in what is now Minnesota. President Lincoln approved those death sentences.

“Anti-colonizer activists”- seriously who comes up with these uninspiring, convoluted, dim-witted idioms? I suggest the anti-colonizer activists vandals stand behind their witless stupidity and pack their bags and migrate to another part of the world that has never been colonized or the colonizers.

The minority rules. They don’t give a fig about history and will continue to see history through today’s lens.

Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it’s Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Now it’s Turkish delight on a moonlit night
Every gal in Constantinople
Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople
So if you’ve a date in Constantinople
She’ll be waiting in Istanbul

[Chorus]
Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can’t say
People just liked it better that way

[Verse 2]
So take me back to Constantinople
No, you can’t go back to Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works?
That’s nobody’s business but the Turks

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
