A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Sure, right – limiting donations is going to pass. NOT! What we need is a nationwide end to political donations, instead funding all campaigns with a fixed amount of campaign money for each public office. And a system in place to confirm no additional amounts are spent. Yes taxpayers would pay, but it would be a bargain and might yield a better class of politicians who will earn votes by appealing to constituents instead of donors. (I’m such a dreamer!)
