Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Alderman Moore and the rest of the black caucus are nothing but two bit race hustlers looking for a quick buck without addressing the rising crime of their constituents. It’s all about free money and enabling criminals with some fake fantasy of systemic racism which doesn’t exist. The black youth needs to be put to work or jailed for a long time if they commit gun crimes.

Way to focus on the big issues of the day, Aldermen. Equity! Not shootings. Not murders. Not car jackings. Not crime. Not the fact that 28 percent of CPS students can’t read at grade level. Not the highest sales tax in the country. Not outrageous property taxes. Not soaring office vacancies downtown. Not the catastrophic pension explosion coming. Just equity..

One solution to affordable housing would be to allow shanty towns to be built using spare parts from other buildings on vacant land. Kind of like those lawless slums just outside of Rio. Those neighborhoods are controlled by the gangs and operate almost independently of the local municipal government.
Even better, the building department doesn’t inspect those buildings! Things like insulation, smoke detectors, working railings, garbage and weed free lots: these regulations drive up the cost of housing for landlords and owners alike.
DEFUND THE BUILDINGS DEPARTMENT
What about something even cheaper. Inflatable bouncy houses. There are colorful,easy to move and if you don’t like neighborhood deflate and leave and no taxes.They come in all shapes and sizes some with slides just in case they need a quick getaway. Just a few rules no pins or cleats or space heaters..
2022 Budget is a giant step towards feudalism, with most Chicagoans being the “serfs”.
Alderman David Moore’s comments are striking. His mission is to redistribute as much income as possible to his constituents. I suspect a suggestion that Government should provide essential services on the most efficient basis possible would befuddle him.
