Even if this absurd statement was true (since most of the low income Latino community spending is for day to day consumables), then the Latino community in question now has $1.2 Billion dollars in their pockets instead of spending it. What a windfall.
First write the conclusion, then do the “research”, concoct a BS number based on dubious KPIs. The article also doesn’t mention the billions given illegals by the state and city combined to people who shouldn’t be here ahead of those who are poor and do belong here. Lord, what bullshit! Neither the Block Club article nor the UIC “Great Cities Institute” study come right out and tell you how many illegals reside in Chicago and Cook County. Instead they deliberately gloss over that figure and suggest that there are enough of them to cause a $1.2 billion reduction in economic activity in the relevant area because they “hunkered down” , essentially, hid out, during the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) enforcement operations. That because nobody and I mean nobody can accurately tell you how many illegal aliens are in the U.S. That is why these blue cities and states will not cooperate in giving you true numbers. Its all about the census and how it allows democrats to use illegals counted toward population and therefore congressional seats they wouldn’t have or hold otherwise. Why it got like that I couldn’t say. How an illegal population is allowed to destroy this country is the democrat’s dream and not just the DSA.
I understand the 2018 MIT-Yale study estimated 22 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S. What would that estimate be today; 25-30 million? Crazy.
Well, the block club can just have a go fund me for 2-3 billion over the last year blown on illegals, education, healthcare, and housing. Check your math.
