Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Based on IL law children are already forced to learn LGBTQ history and now its going to be Woke project 1619 lies and false information. The children are being taught useless woke propaganda and political rubbish vs facts. They will never make it in the real world and will learn to hate the USA. Right out of the saul alinsky playbook. In a way, in my day, the same Euorpean and American History was constantly taught in Elementary School (all grades, K-8, as part of Social Studies, consisting of History, Geography and Civics), in Chicago Public Schools and various private schools. The US and IL Constitution Tests were required.? [Years later, CPS and private schools took over Pre-School.] ? CPS’ High Schools required 3 History Courses, requiring US History (which included the US Constitution Test and maybe the Illinois Constitution Test) and two electives. ? I thought I would be offended by the SunTimes piece but instead I just laughed at how lame the new “curriculum” is. The kids learn about racism and now they feel “empowered”. Just what they feel “empowered” to do isn’t explained in the article.

Incredible that someone with a responsible position could even think such a stupid thought. If I don’t like what happened in the past, I don’t want it taught. You don’t agree with my interpretation of history, we just wont teach any history. What’s next–do away with math classes because some hack politician doesn’t like the pension deficits. Or maybe we stop teaching geography because I dont like the names of the countries.

What I find most disturbing in NB-Chicago’s Suntimes piece is that some really lame and lightweight discussions about racism and abuse of minorities (which these students should already have been aware of) are taking place in an AP history class. I can see why colleges are doing away with SAT and ACT entrance tests.
