Chicago billionaire Ken Griffin’s firms have $86 million in companies making guns and ammunition – WBEZ (Chicago)

The founder of Citadel, the hedge fund and financial services behemoth, has hit Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker on rising crime. Griffin’s critics call these investments and holdings “hypocritical.”

So what? The higher Chicago’s crime-rates go, the more likely law-abiding citizens will go purchase a gun, and apply for CC permit. The higher Chicago’s suburbs’ crime-rates go, particularly home-invasions, the more likely even more law-abiding citizens buy their “house-gun”. If Illinois truly wants to reduce the amount of “gun violence”, then its politicians must be strongly encouraged, by their constituents and political party, to embrace “no broken windows” civil-order policing again, as proven-out in NYC during golden-hour of Guliani administration (kudos to that police chief, not Guliani). But here we are: enabling and encouraging civil unrest and basic criminality.… Read more »

For the last dozen years with the available stats to check, minorities, blacks and hispanics, have been responsible for 96% of all murders and shootings in Chicago. How many purchased a handgun legally? How many had the stupid FOID card? How many were felons and not allowed to possess z firearm? How many were arrested and let go by the state attorneys office? His many had the charges dismissed by the courts? How many violated electronic monitoring? How many? How many? How many? There isnt a gun problem, there is a POC problem.

The more Democrats talk about gun control, the more guns get sold. You think they would figure it out at some point. If we got back to holding people who misuse guns accountable, there wouldn’t be an insane violence problem in Chicago.

So? Stop blaming inanimate objects for the failings of parents and communities…. The vast majority of shootings are illegal guns…. Every one of the shooters had parents whose job is to craft them into contributing members of our society.

Gun purchases are being driven by the nationwide crime wave –which has resulted from crime-enabling Democrats war on law and order, and the police. Blaming gun makers, for selling a legal product that allows law abiding citizens to defend themselves, is — at best – disingenuous. As usual, the left wing Marxist fake news fraud liars at WBEZ are manufacturing a fairy tale narrative, that is the opposite of actual journalism.

IL leads the country in gun purchase background checks two years in a row. And we lead every other state by a large margin. Our medium sized state has purchased nearly a quarter of guns sold in the United States two years running. Last month, January 2022, we again led the country in gun sales with nearly 475,000 firearm checks (that’s assuming only one gun purchase per check!). The next closest state is KY with over 350,000. WBEZ lives in a little bubble and is completely unaware of how much IL residents love their guns. Guns are very popular in… Read more »
