Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Again, these are not leaders. They are followers. Don’t expect them to risk their social status over masking.
So glad I never abased myself by sending my kids into this system. Grift and corruption surrounded by gross incompetence is about the best thing that could be said of CPS.
Sadly, the consequences of the choices of the voters is coming home to roost.
Ironically, CPS is 90%+ BIPOC and minority students are really the only students in the state still wearing masks. White students breathe mask free, BIPOC must wear masks. Because masks aren’t oppression.
The systemic oppression IS YOU. YOU are the systemic oppression holding BIPOC children back and YOU are too dang stupid yourself to even realize it.
