Chicago business activity skid hits two years – Illinois Policy

The Chicago Business Barometer gave Chicago a score of 36.3 in November 2025. A score below 50 indicates business activity is declining, and a score above 50 points indicates expansion. Chicago’s score has been below 50 for 24 consecutive months.

With Mayor Johnson’s extensive knowledge I edge of math I am sure he will view 36.3 as a winning score!

When in the Hell are people going to realize the democratics are ruining our state and our quality of life ? This self supported craze JB is on means we the taxpayers are paying for it. I don’t have a billion dollar trust fund to dip into

And so JB signs the corporate tax return decoupling state returns from the federal tax rules, which is a hidden Illinois tax increase on businesses. Great idea. Let’s continue to tell businesses to leave the state.
