Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. On Lori’s last day in office she should have banners hung across the Mag Mile and on Water Tower Place reading, “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” under which could be the names of Lori,
Lil’ Kim and Soros.
This destruction is 100% Democrat owned. They threw a 4 year temper tantrum and then destroyed their own cities with a fake pandemic, lockdowns and a whipped up hysterical racial racial riot. I walked an entire block of State Street yesterday with not 1 single open business. My guess is the street is about 50% vacant. The liberals of Chicago did this to themselves and frankly, fuq’m, they deserve it.
No one has yet even dared to estimate the impact the three year I-90/94 Kennedy construction project will contribute to downtown’s lagging recovery. Two inbound lanes will be closed this year, two inbound and outbound lanes will be closed next year, and two outbound lanes closed the year after that. They’ll be blaming COVID, Rauner, and Trump for everything that’s wrong as long as the public keeps buying their nonsense.
Stupid chickens!
Nothing to do with Covid. Everything to do about the Chitty of Chicago.
Who wants all the crime, high taxes, low services, lack of education and dirty public transportation. Ken Griffen left and many more have and will leave. Let PPF start and run a business and see how much fun (no profit) it is. The head tax will help businesses come to the Chitty?
The Loop will not recover until Kim Fox, Toni Preckwinckle and Tim Evans are out of office. People need to see law and order embraced by city and county leaders before they are comfortable returning. These three clowns embrace crime and the the criminals in the name of equity. No rational person wants to put up with the crime wave they have caused, and have their wife, friends or family members robbed or carjacked, and then see the perp back out on the street before the end of the day. Many nice and safe venues elsewhere.
