If charter school expansion is frozen, then union expansion should also be frozen.

There should also be a cap on bargaining units.

In other words, no additional charter schools could be unionized or attempted to be unionized while the charter school cap is in place.

The NAACP so-called moratorium on charter schools is misguided and disingenuous. No mention that this sudden shift corresponds with a recent $100K payment from the NEA nor the significant support recently from the AFT as well. This mirrors the CTU playbook where they’ve been contributing large amounts to local neighborhood groups (Albany/Brighton Park, Pilsen, KOCO) that in turn push the union agenda.

But it seems as though this is another bargaining chip Rahm gave away for free. If a freeze on charter schools is so important to CTU, then they can pay their own pensions.
