So much anti-cop sentiment in these comments. You commenters ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

The comments aren’t anti-cop. They are anti Chicago administrators lying to the public. Just like they did with the Wuhan Virus tyranny. Wirepoint’s readers are not suckers.

“dismal response times”
“unanswered call for service”
“looking the other way”

All straight from the comments. Doesn’t sound very pro-cop to me.

If you really want to know if crime is down, you will need to compare the calls into 911 to report crimes versus the police reports generated which are used to document the crime rate. What do you think the difference between the two are, based on the dismal response times and unanswered call for service by the Chicago Police department?

Is it possible that since the border is actually closed, illegal narcotics are more difficult to navigate to the streets of America. Gang turf wars need drugs for distribution. Less drugs, no wars, less homicides and shootings. The question is where did most crime occur and where is the big crime decline occurring? Same areas?

Amen to President Trump banning those 12 countries from their residents entering the USA….that’s what I call a good start.

Is crime really down or are officials looking the other way and downgrading charges?

I truly wonder if crime is down or if it’s been retitled . I haven’t heard much about carjacking lately. And you know it’s happening. If they lower the offense it’s reported another way ?

Chicago crime reporting is down, but not where we need to be. CMS, does that sound better?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
