Chicago crime snapshot shows violence increasing from pre-pandemic levels – ABC7 (Chicago)

Analysis of the Gun Violence Archive data reveals overall shootings in Chicago so far this year are down 25 percent compared to a year ago. But shootings climbed so high last year that still puts Chicago well ahead of pre-pandemic levels of gun violence, along with increases in other violent crimes including rape, robbery and assault.
