Chicago Education Alliance seeks to bring clarity to CPS’ toughest issues – Chicago Sun-Times

The Chicago Education Alliance is the result of several philanthropies coming together in 2023 to understand what players are pushing education agendas in the city and what is needed to focus on students and academic outcomes. Executive Director Arnie Rivera was plucked from CPS’ central office by former Mayor Rahm Emanuel to serve as deputy chief of staff for education. He then was a senior advisor at After School Matters, a CPS school board member, and under former Mayor Lori Lightfoot he was CPS’ chief operating officer.

School vouchers need to be part of the solution. We need to diminish the power of the CTU. If the CTU has their way, all competition would be eliminated.

CPS should provide quality education by teaching language arts, math, science, world and national history. The golden rule and discipline would be helpful. Remove identity and socialist and progressive education. Focus on really educating students so they have a chance at life. They need to behave financially responsibly and close underutilized schools and lay off the staff associated with those schools. And CPS should require teachers to actually teach. CPS-stand up to CTU!
