Chicago getting ‘window dressing’ treatment for Democratic National Convention: former chief – FOX News

The United Center and the McCormick Place convention center will become highly secured bubbles, said Gene Roy, the Chicago Police Department's former chief of detectives. The city's problems with violence and rowdy youths will be tucked away out of view. "The DNC and all the political types, they are going to parachute in or helicopter in, and they're not going to be affected by this," he said. "Days ago, we had a terrible tragedy, a 7-year-old playing outside in front of his house shot with an AK-47. That's terrible."

Was Gene Roy wearing his clown suit when he gave this interview? Roy was the laughing stock of the CPD. Security consultant? He has a hard time tying his shoes. Married a politically connected woman and zoom up the promotion ladder he went.

“…United Center and the McCormick Place convention center, will become highly secured bubbles”

Won’t they simply gather in Millennium Park or some other high visibility location? Will the police prevent these groups from shutting down Michigan Ave., LSD or any other major road outside the DNC “bubble”?

Take all the cops away from the taxpaying citizens and put them on convention duty, with overtime.
The citizens are second class citizens and are treated that way.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
