Chicago home prices slide again, suburbs flatline – The RealDeal

Like most markets around the country, the overall sales volume in Chicago has decreased considerably since the market peaked last summer. The 2,168 homes that sold in the city last month was 25 percent less than 12 months prior, and suburban sales fell by 22 percent to 7,802.

The national price decline – the first, and steepest, since 2012 – has finally reached Chicago. I predicted this months ago. Not because I’m a smart guy, but because I’ve been paying attention. And I predict: prices will continue declining more, and more, until that today’s $700,000 1970’s over-HELOC’d three bedroom split-level reaches a price that families can afford again.

Smart people recognize that electing a Socialist will do nothing to address the problems that the city faces . It will only make them worse. Leave while you can.
