Chicago Is Cracking Down On Congregating In Parks During Coronavirus Pandemic – Block Club Chicago

People have been cited and there have been a small number of arrests due to people not following the order, Lightfoot said. Eleven citations have been issued and three people were arrested between March 25 and April 5, a police spokesperson said.

I’m glad the police are finally cracking down on this criminal behavior. But I live near a construction site, in which I can clearly see all of the workers “congregating” together — and much closer than people at the parks. Who knew that building new condos to open in two years was an “essential business” worth risking the Black Lung Death? I’m glad that the police are leaving them alone and concentrating on the true lawbreakers — in the parks!
