Chicago is so unpleasant migrants are fleeing back to Venezuela – Daily Mail/MSN

At least 40 people in the last month have left Chicago's 1st District station to either move back home or elsewhere in the States, with the help of Catholic Charities of Chicago. Brayan Lozano, head of the volunteer group of the Police Station Response Team, said, "The word of the situation in Chicago is beginning to spread."

They’d rather we talk about this than the tens of thousands of single, military age Chinese males that came across the border alone. Where are the wives? Where are the children?

It seems that this mainly is a federal shortcoming. They didn’t control the border, then they prohibit the migrants from employment. (off-the-books jobs for cash exist but tend to pay poorly.) Abbot offered bus rides to Chicago and some accepted. I don’t blame the migrants; I don’t even blame Brandon J and his crew. (I blame them for plenty else, but not for this.) The feds have set up an impossible situation.

BJ and his crew can’t say no. The Democrat Party is telling Democrat cities to take these migrants. They don’t have a choice. Look what happened just recently when NY Mayor Eric Adams said “No”, and he was supposed to met with Biden publicly to say No….and on the eve of the meeting, the FBI raided his campaign manager’s office and seized Eric’s personal and official cell phones. The timing of the raid was no coincidence. And for those paying attention, the news stories about mayors complaining about migrants stopped immediately. The FBI, as it has for decades, exists to… Read more »

Raid on Mayor Adam’s office was fair-warning to Mayor BJ. Lesson noted.

$10/hour off-the-books is a good wage when your receiving a weekly-reloaded government debit card, in addition to free medical, possibly free housing, and free food from various agencies and volunteers.

Trib article today bemoans migrants’ problems obtaining a city-residency ID card, which would allow them to open bank accounts, sign leases, and operate like a full-fledged citizen here, albeit a extra-special heavily-subsidized so-called “resident”.

This article is written to make people feel guilty, but it’s not working. Too many Americans already on the government dole, and they don’t want to give that up, and others are being taxed into poverty. Here’s a family that got $15,000 in rent support and couldn’t make it work, despite getting a job paying cash. So there’s jobs out there if you want them I guess. Too bad the writer didn’t want to follow up on that part of the story but it didn’t fit the narrative. This whole thing is an epic disaster. Thanks to Joe Biden, who… Read more »

So rare they write a news article about it. These migrants aren’t going anywhere.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
