Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
You have to marvel at his incoherence.
He’s the first man in history to link extraterrestrials with criminal illegals.
The fact that this dope was a Chicago Teacher explains why Chicago kids are illiterate, and all generally miseducated.
Take a good look Chicago. You elected that. Is the lead in the water affecting your brain?
The term “Illegal alien” is Still used to this day in the SCOTUS. Per a Google AI search: “The legal and historical context of “illegal alien” Rooted in federal law: The term “alien” has a long history in U.S. law, dating back to the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798. Federal immigration law, specifically Title 8 of the U.S. Code, uses the terms “alien” and “unauthorized alien,” among others, to refer to non-citizens. In court opinions, judges sometimes use the language found in these statutes. Past Supreme Court usage: In cases like Arizona v. United States (2012), the Court used the term… Read more »
All the reporters should have continued to use “Illegal aliens” just to watch conehead blow a gasket.
Forcing another trip,to the hospital for a panic attack
Brandon Johnson has repeatedly used racist and nasty language himself with his weird claim that Republicans want a rematch of the Civil War. And his claim that he considers citizens of other countries are in fact Chicagoans show who is getting registered to vote.
“ a sci- fi message you wish you had (?)”. Face it, panic attacks has gone around the bend and stands about the same chance of finishing his term as “ sharp as a tack” Joe. Looney Tunes.
Ok . Let’s call them ILLEGAL INVADERS !!!
All this rhetoric, energy, and money spent protecting illegals to the detriment of the city as a whole and to poor minority neighborhoods in particular is but one of many reasons why this mayor and the CTUDSA+ crowd are so destructive and wrongheaded. Hopefully they are a fever that will pass rather than a permanent infection.
Let’s look at the this way. They undocumented illegals but come election time they will be registered voters who owe the democrats for all the freebies they got
Everything is racist to this jackass. Yeah, lets “look at the language”…because that’s the problem. Pinhead.
Actually, Mayor, they are crimes. And those who commit crimes are criminals. And their actions are illegal. Just because you don’t like it, and because you still are hung up on the slavery system that ended over 160 years ago, does not mean that the law is not clear. If you don’t like the words, too bad.
This is all Richard Nixon’s fault.
Not sure I agree there. Speeding is a crime. Are speeders criminals?
Simply being present in the U.S. without proper documents is considered a civil matter. This can lead to deportation proceedings and fines, but not criminal charges.
Re-entering the U.S. after having been previously deported. This is a felony offense, while a first-time improper entry is a misdemeanor.
No, and we don’t put them in prison.
But there are consequences to speeding.
We don’t just ignore it, or raise the speed limit to accommodate the speeders. And we certainly don’t pay them for speeding.
We have laws that determine the consequences for illegal entry. Deportation back to the country of origin.
There are consequences to being here illegaly. You get deported. What percentage of speeders get tickets when they speed?
And what percent of those here illegally do you think will get deported?
Time to give up on a really poor analogy.
Nice straw man argument. And to answer your question, speeding can be a crime. In Illinois if you are speeding 35MPH over the limit it can be considered a misdemeanor punishable up to 12 months in prison. If combined with other serious offenses it can also be a felony.
Over 35. How about when you speed 10 over? Still illegal, right?
