Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Boo f’ing Hoo. Your community voted for SloJoe, Pritzger and host of other Democrats that are driving a stake into the heart if America. Quit complaining, you got what you wanted.
This is hysterical! How do you think the entire State of Texas feels? And they aren’t a sanctuary state, you know, like the idiot Governor of Illinois declared. Illinois mayors should band together and loudly call for Pritzker to rescind the sanctuary status for Illinois, otherwise they’re just as guilty of gross negligence.
Rescinding sanctuary status won’t stop the busses. And if the state just abandons them to their own devices, then dozens or hundreds will die next month when the polar vortex unleashes. It’s a no-win situation. Winter is coming.
