A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

The best safety plan is just don’t go downtown.
That’s been my plan for many years. It seems to work well.
How about making it safe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Right now, downtown is not safe for most people.
Commercial businesses are fleeing the area in record numbers.
