Chicago Park District develops $630 million renovation plan for Soldier Field after Bears leave – CBS2 (Chicago)

The plan includes $130 million in renovations to the stadium itself, including a new sound system and new dressing rooms. Another $500 million would go toward upgrading infrastructure and parking around it.

This could be interesting. There is still $356 Million outstanding in debt from the 2003 renovation. Now what/

Once again, Democrats spending money that they don’t have. Spending money on Soldier Field is not necessary, as is .building a new soccer stadium. Use Soldier Field for soccer. Not a brain cell in the bunch in Chicago. Just tax and spend, and give construction contracts to their friends, at the expense of taxpayers. If Chicago wants to do this, let the city of Chicago pay for it.

How opulent does it need to be? And as Daskoterzar states, the old renovation hasn’t been paid off. Illinois and Chicago are going to fail into bankruptcy; there’s little hope at this time in history.

The City and State still owe a boat-load of cash on the previous “renovations” to the stadium like $500M and this new suggestion would pour $630M more tax payer debt into the stadium. Yeah, this sounds like a Shit-deal for the tax payers. But hey, the Parks Department (with all their financial planning experience) thinks having concerts and events at the venue would pay for the debt.
