Chicago Police Disperse Grant Park Protest Against Illinois’ Stay-at-Home Order – NBC5 (Chicago)

“While we respect First Amendment rights, this gathering posed an unacceptable health risk and was dispersed,” Lightfoot said. “No matter where in the city you live, no one is exempt from Gov. Pritzker’s stay-at-home order.”

Chicago had it’s most violent Memorial Day weekend since 2015. Yet Groot and the CPD were busy with attacking peaceful protesters and trying to storm churches. You voted for it Chicago – enjoy the misery.

The protesters don’t think they are risking their health by gathering to protest

The threat of a dictator is greater than contacting a flu.

If people are horrified, Please stay in you home, but don’t subject the rest of the population to wallow in your Fear.

Chicago had 10 murders and 31 wounded memorial weekend. I don’t know if any of these violent crimes were committed by someone released from prison due to the virus. I also don’t know if denying basic rights, like the right to protest, causes anger to be demonstrated in more violent ways.

You’d think our data-driven mayor and governor would keep track of crimes committed by those they release. That’s the statistic we need to judge the effectiveness of their program to release criminals

A Utopian Dreanm. The city of Chicago cannot even crack down on gang shootings. Keeping track of criminals, not going to happen! Convicted criminals should never have been released,

The Death Penalty is a deterrent to murder.

Historically, this is the kind of stuff that revolutions’ are made of. I hope Queenie doesn’t lose her head over it.

I wonder if she has ever heard of Marie Antoinette?

Well then you’re not respecting their first amendment rights. You’re controlling speech in violation of the constitution. But we all know that the Bill of Rights was written by a bunch of dead rich white slave owning men. So it has no relevance in today’s world. It is toilet paper for the progressive cause.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
