Chicago Police have a mandate to protect the DNC. I wish they had the same mandate to protect ordinary Chicagoans – Wirepoints on with Jeff Daly of WZUS Decatur Radio

Ted joined Jeff Daly to talk about the actual facts of Illinois instead of Gov. Pritzker’s rhetoric, the reality of homicides and crime in Chicago, why it’s wrong for the state to pick winners and losers in green energy, and why Chicago police have stepped up protections to the DNC that don’t extend to ordinary citizens, but should.

Sad truth: voters don’t matter to Democrats, because their lemming-like followers willingly accept poor governance, overt corruption, and petty anti-white/anti-middle class rhetoric as “normal”.

Chicago has long been governed on basis of voter tolerance for poor government performance, whether at agency or employee levels, overt corruption, whether by politician, department head, or ordinary employee, and petty race-baiting jingoistic rhetoric in lieu of competent government leadership from elected officials.

So Barack and Michelle got together for their “mandate” in Chicago for the communist trash DNC convention?

Net worth in the $200+ million range, and yet hectoring us to “not take more than we need”. Hypocrites. Obamas should have paid market-value for the land stolen from Chicago taxpayers for Obama Center “monument to hubris”.

So annoying.

Agreed Streeterville, and also they lecture us about “climate change” and the sea levels rising, yet they never have, and they buy multimillion dollar mansions right next to the water, total frauds. I would like to know where there big time fortune came from, they are total frauds.

Almost a week later and downtown still looks like post-blast Hiroshima. I wouldn’t blame all those looted stores and trashed restaurants for never reopening and moving out of here forever. What the left did to this city last week will never be recovered from. Never forgotten. Never forgiven.

This morning, the media had a report of a shooting last night (after all the Joy was had) at a restaurant where 4 DNC people were eating. The shooting didn’t involve the DNC people, but they got interviewed at the scene by a media crew. The person they interviewed went right to “gun violence” and he made a point of showing that he had a button on his jacket that called for gun laws to control the sale of guns. Even after being there and seeing the shooting take place…these Libs think that this happens…because there are guns. Not because… Read more »

In the meantime 10 people were killed and 28 shot in the city during the convention now totals 399 homicides for the year. Plus a Texas delegate was robbed at gunpoint in downtown. Not much coverage by the media as usual.

The entire security team did a great job. The Chicago Police set aside their personal biases and performed their duties commendably, especially considering the prevailing leftist political climate in the city. They acted professionally and demonstrated that they can effectively manage the city when given the proper mandate, all while minimizing disruption to the citizens of Chicago.

This raises an important question: Does the leadership of the City and State truly want this level of effective policing? It may be time for the population to realize that the politicians they are electing may not have their best interests at heart.

It also helps that the pro-Hamas protests haven’t been violent. Disruptive, but not violent, unlike the Antifa black bloc or gang banger crowd that shows up to protest and loot. The pro-Hamas crowd cleared out every night around sundown, because, let’s be honest here, downtown gets dangerous after dark. Had the antifa people showed up wearing their all black gear and fake garbage can shields, we would have had violence, and then the criminality would have filled the void.

I’m sure antifa and the pro hamas were told to stand down and wait for november.

Politicians are scrambling everywhere as they have racked up unsustainable piles of debt in order to buy votes and maintain power. All pensions will come under fire, no one will be safe.

They protect what they value. You, your families, your buildings and your businesses have no value to them.

Why would the police offer Chicagoans better protection than the DNC? After all some animals are more equal than others.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
